Position Purpose
This role regularly tests, maintains, diagnoses, and repairs electrical equipment, motor controls, pump drives, and chemical feed systems.
Long Description
Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Electrical Technician:
Maintain, repair, and upgrade the electrical distribution infrastructure for the WUC
Perform thermography of motor control and electrical distribution panels collect and analyze power quality data to troubleshoot problems.
Perform comprehensive troubleshooting down to component levels to extend the life of equipment and conserve funds.
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair low to medium voltage equipment, control centres, and de energized higher voltage equipment.
Maintain and repair engine, generators perform work on associated control circuit equipment.
Install, maintain, and repair building circuits and related equipment.
Maintain electrical pneumatic and electronic controls and related equipment.
Requisition parts and supplies maintain records and prepare reports.
Oversee and inspect work performed by outside vendors.
Participates in emergency on call duty on a rotational basis.
Maintain quality standards by adhering to SOPs and cleaning of infrastructure during maintenance.

Qualifications & Experience
National Craft Certificate in Electrical Engineering
Experience:
Direct Entry
Valid Driver’s licence
High Voltage Authorisation an added advantage
