The incumbent will act as a strategic partner to Management, providing professional advice and identifies the money laundering risks business faces, suggests relevant internal controls and policies, monitors the implementation of each, ensure compliance with applicable AML/CFT/PF requirements and advises on risk management whenever the need arises.
Key roles and responsibilities
- Develops and ensures effective implementation, monitoring and review of AML policies, procedures, initiatives and programmes to achieve strategic goals.
- Monitoring, review and reporting of relevant regulatory and legislative requirements applicable to the bank and their impact
- Monitor, improve and ensures the effective design and operation of the anti-money laundering systems
- Monitors high risk products, services and business relationships with the Company including regular risk assessments.
- Ensures that all statutory reports are timeously submitted to management and the regulators in line with anti-money laundering and terrorist financing control legislation and directives
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Data analytics, Business Intelligence , Finance, Risk Management, LLB, Audit or other relevant qualification.
· Must be a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)
· Membership in a recognised AML/CFT/PF or Compliance body is an added advantage.
Required Experience
· At least (3-5) years post qualification experience in the AML/CFT/PF or Compliance field or investigations in a banking or financial services set up.
· Good knowledge of the goAML portal and AML Systems
· Knowledge of AML Compliance standards and legislation
· Good understanding of AML governance
