The National Arts Council of Botswana (NACB) is a body corporate established under the National Arts Council of Botswana Act, No. 10 of 2020.The Council’s mandate is to develop, promote and protect the creative and cultural sector of Botswana through policy, legislation, industry facilitation and various partnerships, programmes, grants, and initiatives. The Council aims to transform the local creative and cultural sector by nurturing excellence and preserving the Nations rich cultural traditions with the goal of building an inclusive, sustainable, and prosperous sector.

ADMINISTRATION EXECUTIVE

Reporting to Human Capital and Administration Manager

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To coordinate and control the implementation of administrative policies and procedures to ensure the efficient delivery of facilities management, records management, cleaning, transport and fleet management, security, Council insurance policies and other office support services such as front desk reception services. In addition, the role is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Council’s Safety, Health and Environment policies and procedures in consultation with other departments.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Initiate the development, review and update of strategies and policies that will facilitate cost effective delivery of transport and office support services to National Arts Council of Botswana.
  • Administer the Council’s Facilities management policy and procedures to ensure optimal availability of suitable facilities to conduct business.
  • Plan and organize the maintenance of facilities/ buildings to ensure that they are in a good state of repair.
  • Administer the Council’s transport and fleet management policy and procedures to ensure optimal availability of transport to conduct business as well as efficient and economical use of National Arts Council of Botswana owned and leased vehicles.
  • Investigate and prepare reports of incidents and submit recommendations to the Head of division for appropriate action.
  • Ensure that cost effective and secure systems are in place for the handling of internal mail distribution and filing and the management of the registry function.
  • Take responsibility for and coordinate the Council’s Safety, Health and Environmental activities in consultation with all department management.
  • Manage all administrative outsourced services such as security and cleaning services.
  • Maintain and monitor records management activities throughout the Council.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Facilities Management or related course.
  • A minimum of five (5) years administration experience and at least two (2) of which should have been in a Supervisory role.
