1. PRINCIPAL MEDICAL SCIENTIFIC OFFICER II/MEDICAL LAB SUPERINTENDENT
Salary Scale: D3 (279,660 – 308, 328) per annum
Qualifications: Diploma/ Degree in Medical Laboratory science or equivalent. A management qualification will be an added advantage. Training on ISO 15189:2022 standard is essential.
Experience: No less than 12 years of experience, 3 years of which should have been served at D4 salary scale. Demonstrated experience in managing an accredited medical laboratory (ISO15189). Demonstrated experience with implementation of a Quality Management System and accreditation requirements
Duties & Responsibilities: All duties related to managing a busy district Hospital with the following scopes of service: Microbiology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Mycobacteriology, Serology and Haematology.
• Inventory management
• Taking part in internal audits
• Taking calls
2. SENIOR MEDICAL SCIENTIFIC OFFICER/CHIEF MEDICAL LAB TECHNICIAN
Salary Scale: D4 (243, 756 – 286, 680) per annum
Qualifications: Diploma/Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent. Training on ISO15189 standard
Experience: No less than 9 years of experience, 3 years of which should have been served at C1 salary scale or equivalent. Demonstrated experience with implementation of Quality Management System.
Duties & Responsibilities: The Officer should be able to work independently and his/her responsibilities include among others:
• Analysing patient samples in Haematology, Chemistry, Microbiology and Serology.
• Taking part in Internal audits
• Taking calls
3. CHIEF TECHNICAL OFFICER (ORTHOPEDIC)
Salary Scale: D4 (P243, 756 – 268,680 per annum)
Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics Technology Experience: No less than six (6) years of relevant work experience
Duties & Responsibilities:
All basic duties related to Orthopedic Technology in a busy District Hospital. The Officer should be able to work independently and his/her responsibilities will include among others:
• Managing and overseeing the day to day running of the Orthopedic Workshop
• Assessing patients Orthopedic needs, takes casts and measurements, design, modifies casts and aligns prosthesis and orthoses in accordance with Orthopedic principles
• Manufacturing of Orthoses and Prostheses
• Supplying and fitting of new Orthopedic aids
• Repair and alteration of orthopedic appliances and aids, wheelchairs, crutches etc.
• Supervision of Orthopedic technologists in the prosthetic/Orthopedic department
4. PRINCIPAL REGISTERED NURSE-MIDWIFE
Salary Scale: C1 (P183, 408 – P218, 184 per annum) plus allowances
Qualifications: Post Basic Diploma in Midwifery
Experience: At least 2 years of experience
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Systematic comprehensive health history taking and physical assessment of clients and patients in Reproductive Health Unit, Maternity Ward and General Wards.
• Identifies and manages effectively common obstetric emergencies.
• Identifies health care needs, makes diagnoses following correct interpretation of findings and takes appropriate actions across the human life cycle
5. PRINCIPAL REGISTERED NURSE
Salary Scale: C1 (P183, 408 – P218, 184 per annum) plus allowances
Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in General Nursing
Experience: At least 4 years post qualification experience. Two (2) years of exposure in infection control will be an added advantage
Duties & Responsibilities: Maintaining the job description of a Principal Registered Nurse with duties of infection control measures.
6. PRINCIPAL TRANSPORT OFFICER
Salary scale: C1 (183, 408 – P218, 184) per annum
Qualifications: Diploma/Degree in Transport/Fleet Management or related
field from a recognized institution.
Experience: A minimum of four years relevant experience in transport fleet management field, two years of which must have been served as Senior Transport Officer on C2 salary scale.
Duties & Responsibilities: As Head of the Transport Unit, you will be responsible to provide fleet
Management services which include but not limited to:
• Coordinating and managing Institutional and Government fleet/vehicles
• Maintaining the Institutional and Government fleet/vehicle register.
• Monitoring vehicle maintenance schedule and ensure regular maintenance of vehicles
• Performing inspection checks on roadworthiness of the vehicles
• Carrying out daily inspection of log books and attend to vehicle utilization report
• Liaising with private garages for repair and maintenance of vehicles on time
• Ensuring daily availability and provision of transport to patients and staff
• Coordinating the disposal of old and unserviceable vehicles
• Ensuring the upkeep and cleanliness of all vehicles
• Supervising Drivers and monitor their performance
• Educating Drivers on matters relating to transport operation, regulations and safety aspects
• Analyzing and investigating as necessary fuel consumption of institutional vehicles to detect any abnormalities in the pattern of fuel consumption of different types of vehicles.
7. PERSONAL SECRETARY
Salary scale: C2 (148, 884 – P177, 012) per annum
Qualifications: Diploma/Degree in Secretarial studies
Experience: 2 years of experience in secretarial service
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide Secretarial services which include but not limited to:
• Managing office and diary of the incumbent they serve.
• Receiving incoming and outgoing mail and keeping official records.
• Retrieving and processing data to produce required information and reports.
• Providing typing duties to management officers on various assignments
• Making preparations for official meetings and functions.
• Minute taking during Hospital meetings including Management meetings.
• Making appointments for people requesting an audience with the supervisor/incumbent and ensuring that appointments do not coincide.
• Reminds the supervisor/incumbent of scheduled meetings and making available relevant files/documents before the meeting.
•Intercepts telephone calls to supervisor and identifies caller and purpose of call.
