1. Head of Global Transactional Services
(Permanent) Gaborone

Main Purpose
To play a leadership role in the delivery of a portfolio of activities focused on growing Transactional Banking for wholesale banking, optimising cash, and liquidity management for clients, growing working capital and trade finance and associated operations across the organisation. Ensuring that structures are in place to facilitate growth of GTS and customer service is optimised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recommend business strategy, covering product development / management, sales and client services delivery in order to achieve revenue targets set for transactional services
  • Own all P&L and balance sheet accountabilities relating to transactional services and deliver profitable growth and financial objectives
  • Manage a product portfolio that generates specific, trade, cash, factoring, and treasury targets
  • Be accountable for sales acquisition, directing sales efforts and measuring new customer acquisitions and overall size
    of the pipeline
  • Partner with relationship managers, treasury, and other stakeholders in selling deposits, FX, trade finance and other transactional services products
  • Be accountable for clearing and settlement of treasury and commercial payments, as well as, coordinating coverage for other business lines such as trade finance, cash management, FX, etc.
  • Drive innovation, strategy, and product development for relevant transactional services products lines to achieve business objectives
  • Managing the credit process and development of credit programs to support the businesses in Botswana
  • Coordinate cash and receivables management in Botswana
  • Responsible for the growth of the Cash and Trade Linked FX across transactional services
  • Review existing product, system and process set-up and benchmark to create market leading position
  • Develop product placement strategies leveraging the bank’s footprint and building on CIB industry focus
  • Guide and assist the team in scoping the market for opportunities and work as the lead in coordinating them on materialisation
  • Drive the development of Transactional service products and identify the opportunities in the market to generate strong revenue and profitability
  • Identify new product opportunities to influence the development of key new service initiatives and more cost effective delivery channels
  • To resource, lead motivate, set objectives, and develop the sales skills of the product sales team to ensure achievement of targets and objectives

Key requirements

  • A degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, or related field from a recognized institution.
  • Relevant professional membership with chamber of commerce or global trade review.
  • Minimum 10 years progressive banking experience, at least 5 years at managerial level
  • Solid and proven track record in transaction banking, Trade & relationship management

2. Regulatory Compliance Manager
(Permanent) Gaborone

Main Purpose
To give leadership and direction required to ensure that there is adequate Conduct & Compliance oversight on the Regulatory Surveillance responsibilities. To further ensure that there is a robust system of internal controls management

Key Responsibilities

  • Dealing and being the point of contact for the regulators
  • Collaborating with business units, advising internal management and business partners on the implementation of compliance programs
  • Conducting compliance risk assessments and Developing risk management strategies
  • Decompose regulations immediately they are released using the assigned matrix template
  • Conducting regular GAP analysis on new and updated controls and best practices in the industry
  • Review and Confirm compliance with agreed reporting timelines and other Service Level Agreements
  • Following up on compliance issues that require investigation
  • Preparing compliance reports
  • Carry out compliance training and awareness as necessary
  • Conducting internal reviews and audits and monitoring the closure of compliance exceptions
  • Evaluating compliance systems and ensuring adequate software is in place

3. Team Lead, Branch & Head Office Units Audit
(Permanent) Gaborone

Main Purpose
To ensure compliance with agreed processes& standards so
as to meet the Bank’s statutory obligations and to ensure
that the banks processes and procedures are in line with
international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan annual activities of the unit segregated into quarterly activities.
  • Undertake high risk Head Office reviews and other reviews as appropriate, including special audits, value for money audits, fraud investigation etc.
  • Review and sign off branch/head office audit exercises/ reports undertaken/issued by the staff members of the unit and others as appropriate, ensuring the implementation of agreed recommendations.
  • Provide Branch & HO input to major internal audit exercises as appropriate.
  • Supervision of the Internal Audit Consultants in the implementation of the audit exercise of the bank
  • Organising the exit discussion with the Internal Consultants, Retail Operations Group and Compliance Team
  • Present and discuss review findings with Chief Audit Executive, updating with resulting review comments.
  • Manages the Budget for the Internal Audit Unit to ensure no abuses.
  • Preparing the Board Audit Reports for branches and HO
  • Liaising with the Group Heads, Zonal Heads, and Auditees on the resolution of issues emanating from audit
  • Propose amendments to SOPs in line with current and best practices in the bank
  • Training and continuous improvement of team members.
  • Fill the unit’s staffing needs and those of other related units in the Bank.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Audit Executive
  • Ensuring that critical Applications are reviewed at least once in a year.
  • Perform regular audit testing and provide recommendations, and guidance on identified security and control risks.

Qualifications and Experience

  • First degree in any discipline or BSc Computer Sciences. Relevant Masters’ degree will be an advantage
  • Mandatory: ACIB/ACA/ACCA/CFA/CISA (Compulsory).
  • Recommended: CISSP, CISM, ACA, ACFE, CIA, CRISC, ISO, etc.

4. AML Analyst x2
(24 Months Fixed Term Contract) Gaborone

Main Purpose
To provide direction required to ensure that there is adequate
Conduct & Compliance oversight on the Financial Crimes
Monitoring and Reporting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and clearing suspicious transactions/activity alerts from the transactions surveillance system and staff escalations
  • Carrying out KYC reviews as may be required
  • Review of Sanctions, PEP/PIP alerts as generated by the bank’s control systems
  • Rendition of regulatory reports to the regulatory authorities as applicable
  • Conduct and oversee AML/CFT risk assessment on new products, services, customer relationships, etc.
  • Managing requests from Law Enforcement Agencies and regulatory authorities and ensuring timeous submission as required
  • Training of staff on AML/CFT
  • Internal reporting within the approved SLAs.
  • Monitoring changes to the AML/CFT requirements and ensuring timeous update to the bank’s policies and control processes
  • Reviewing of correspondent banking relationships to ensure compliance with the regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring that sufficient controls are in place and staff knowledge on the controls for management of high-risk relationships is adequate.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any Business-related qualification.
